Can I serve food directly on the wooden serving ware? How do I care for my treasured purchase?
Any finger food which you wish to serve directly on the serving board should be placed on the exposed wood only. The resined section should be used to hold plates and bowls or left uncovered to show it to best effect. After all it’s an art piece designed to draw the eye and promote conversation. Why hide it?
After use a soaped up kitchen sponge is suitable to clean off any food residue but we counsel against kitchen sink soakings to avoid warpage. Tissues or cleaning cloths can be used to remove the finger prints left on the product by overly enthusiastic admirers. When not in use items are best placed on their sides to permit maximum air circulation and consistent drying and, if they look particularly thirsty, you may wipe some grapeseed oil over the wooden surface to reinvigorate them.
