Can I cut on the serving ware? Can I use it with hot food and drinks?

You can certainly cut on the exposed wooden part of the table serving ware and you might find that any scratches left behind add character to the particular piece. However, please don’t cut on the resined parts as this may result in scratches which will be difficult, if not impossible, to remove.

If you wish to remove any scratching to the wooden section please sand accordingly and then apply a coating of oil to rehydrate the timber.

We endorse the use of grapeseed oil over other oils. It is freely available in supermarkets and is often the most recommended of the vegetable oils that can be used.

Please note our range of serving ware is suitable for use with heated food and drink served on/in plates, bowls mugs and cups but should not be used with items taken directly from the cooktop or oven. If you need something that takes higher heat our drink coasters and trivets have been specially treated and offer heat tolerance up to 260 degrees C.
